STAFFING POLICY

Several things are taken into consideration, when deciding to promote a member to staff.

  • 1. Loyalty - I look at how long a member has been here, if they are active or not and if they post on a consistent basis.

  • 2. Experience - I look into how much moderation experience they have had in the past. Experienced staff are what I look for, not just good buddies.

  • 3. Initiative - Do they take the initiative to start threads/topics on there own. Do they post thought provoking topics. Do they make suggestions to benefit the forum. These are all questions I use to determine whether or not you will be an asset to the forum as a staff member.

  • 4. Conduct - How do they interact with the rest of the forum? Does the member handle their self with maturity, but maintain the ability to be fun? Is the member respectful to staff and other members?

HOT LINKING AND HOSTING IMAGES

  • You are not allowed to hotlink images here. This is stealing, plain and simple. You must host the images yourself, if you are going to post images here. This is to include signatures, avatars, and images in posts.

  • There are many free hosting services online. If for some reason you cannot get the hosting to work, please feel free to contact any staff member and they will be able to help you or host it for you.

  • Any images that I find are hot linked will be removed. If problem persists, you will be warned. If problem still persists, you will be removed from the forum.

BASIC POSTING GUIDELINES

Posting

Members must post according to the Proboards Terms of Service, and must avoid, if possible, direct insults with malicious intentions.

Topic Creating

Please create a topic with a title that does not mislead posters. Try to remain on the topic, unless you must prove a point related to the topic. (no sub sub points or sub sub sub points.) Any subject which sparks interest should be quoted and started in a new topic. This allows other posters to join in rather than have duels between two or three members.

General Behavior

Respect is expected to staff and council members. This is extended to other posters. We are here to discuss and debate, but not to flame, fight, or spam. A special notice must be taken for post conduct and what can be said and what shouldn't be said when debating. The key word is 'impersonal'. Do not make any personal reference to the other debater, if you choose to insult something, think very hard about the perception and then critique the subject, not the person posting it. People believe in many things, and they shouldn't have to defend themselves on this forum. Defend your opinion, defend the subject matter, but we do not need a personal fight between members, so use caution when posting critically.
